The Forest Night

August 1, 2010

Fallen leaves.
Whispers in your ears.
Wind against the face.
A moon lit night.
Shadows dancing;
A step into the woods.

Wet leaves.
A cry in the night.
Your shuffling feet move on,
Deeper, engrossed, within.
No more stars;
Surrounded in the woods.

Dead leaves.
No more cries.
Silence has called you,
Consumed among the trees.
A life forgotten;
Lost in the woods.

    nosebleed. Leaves in this poem tell either you or stages of your life or your life’s journey… I guess..?!
