Fooling Myself

February 23, 2011

I wanted to be an important person in your life, but it didn’t seem like i met the requirements.  You were good at pretending, though.  Good at drawing people towards you with your seductive eyes and then laughing them away.  And i suppose it was my fault for thinking we shared something no one else could have.  Something sacred. Mystical.  Unexplainable to everyone but each other.

You were the beginning, but you never stayed for the ending.  Maybe you couldn’t see the future.  But I did.  I saw it in your eyes, in my dreams.  But then you blinked me away, erasing our destiny.  Now i am wandering a black and white canvas, waiting for the bewitching colors of your reincarnated soul to breathe life back into my portrait.
